Vampires are meant to be bloodsucking monsters. So why does all the books now make them pussys?

Because Anne Rice wrote Interview with the Vampire, since then it's become the norm to have vampire characters portrayed as thinking, feeling human like beings wracked with guilt over what they're forced to do to survive instead of the vile, unspeakable walking corpses they used to be before that.
