Why do police abandon police chases?

I recently have begun listening to a police scanner online and I frequently hear officers reporting they are in a high speed chase, but abandoning the chase because it is too fast??? Doesn't this send the message to the bad guys that if you drive erratically and dangerously, you won't be pursued? Why do they not take aggressive action to disable the vehicle and/or its driver? If the vehicle is being driven dangerously and will not yield to law enforcement, shouldn't lethal force be used to disarm the threat?

Anything less than 12V and your alternator might be dead. Being that everything else electronically works doesnt mean that the battery is completely dead which is good. How do I disable the alarm on a 2006 Hyundai Elantra so I can start it?

Hi I have a 2006 Hyundai Elantra. I lost my keys at work which include a remote transponder and looked everywhere but could not find them. I have a duplicate key, not transponder, at home and went back to my car at work to try to start it. The key opened the car and fit in the ignition and even turned the car on, but would not start it. I am not sure if this is due to the alarm being sounded by my opening of the car with the key rather than how I usually unlock it with the transponder or perhaps because this duplicate key was made only with the purpose of being able to unlock the door to retrieve keys that were locked in the car. If it is the alarm going off that is causing the car to be unable to start is their anyway to disarm it without the remote. Thanks.

How do I disable alarm on 2006 Hyundai Elantra so I can start it?

Hi I have a 2006 Hyundai Elantra. I lost my keys at work which include a remote transponder and looked everywhere but could not find them. I have a duplicate key, not transponder, at home and went back to my car at work to try to start it. The key opened the car and fit in the ignition and even turned the car on, but would not start it. I am not sure if this is due to the alarm being sounded by my opening of the car with the key rather than how I usually unlock it with the transponder or perhaps because this duplicate key was made only with the purpose of being able to unlock the door to retrieve keys that were locked in the car. If it is the alarm going off that is causing the car to be unable to start is their anyway to disarm it without the remote. Thanks.

There's Strange things happening in my home?

Ever since we moved into our new house in October of 2010, weird things have been happening. All together there's 7 of us and two pets. we've had footsteps running/etc up and down the halls, in our rooms and up and down the stairs, we've also heard voices in out attic which is unaccessible and sometimes when we'll be in the middle of a conversation someone starts yelling or once in a while screaming. Doors open and close, mostly the small closet door by my bedroom at the end of the hall. I used to see someone in my bedroom window staring back at me before i finally threw a blanket over it (a very dark and disfigured face, piercing gold eyes). Once in a while it would feel like someone is crawling over top of me and i would wake up in a state of panic from either being awake and feeling it or feeling memories come back again. My dog will growl at something randomly or my cat will stare and follow something with his eyes on the ceiling. It stopped for a month or so and then tonight (May 1, 2011) our disarmed alarm system suddenly went off! Fire alarm, burgalur alarm, etc. and when we checked it it said back door, front door, all the rooms, and the basement were breached or whatever you call it! My entire family, mostly my mom and 4 younger sisters, are freaking out! My step-dad is telling us to ignore it and we keep saying what in the name of cheese would've set it off. I started asking if maybe that stuff was starting up again and he had said no, it doesn't exist nor do they cause things like this. Please! I have a psp 3000 and it used to connect fine but recently it won't connect to my wifi anymore. I get connection acces point timed out. I do know a little mor ethan average bout computer. I've tried everything reset my router, I formated my psp. I have changed my security settings to open still nothing. My 360 works fine. and both my dsi and 3ds connect fine so its not my router. Why does my computer keep track of everything that I do?

My computer keeps track of every web page that I go to. Why? It’s like I have absolutely no privacy whatsoever. The search bar keeps the last search displayed on it. I have to delete it so that it disappears from the display. When I copy and paste pictures to paint, the last four pictures is boldly displayed when I click on the file tab; and there is no way to get rid of it. There is even a recent Item tab on the start menu that keeps a list of everywhere that I’ve been on the web; every document that I’ve written; every picture that I’ve viewed. Now, at least there is a “clear recent item list” that clears everything, but it’s like disarming Germany to go through and clear all of the history on my computer so that I can keep my privacy. I have my computer set that when I close my browser, all of the history is not stored, but that is just for the browser, not all of the other things that keep track of everything. Whenever I ask anybody how to stop my computer from keeping this information, it’s always the same thing. “what are you doing that you don’t want anybody to see” or, “looking at porn, huh”. if you get accepted to something like spec ops.. they teach you this stuff... you gotta be REALLY smart and tech savvy and of course a good shot martial arts is pretty much the last thing they care about cause they will train this stuff.. your going to have to start out in the army or be lucky enough to hear about government testings.. way better odds in the army

I like caffeine. I don't usually have any or a lot (don't want to build up a tolerance), but, I'm kind of a binge drinker when it comes to energy drinks. It really worries my friends. And yeah, I know too much caffeine is bad, but I feel so great and full of energy (duh, energy drink). I used to have about 800-1,000 mg of caffeine a day, because I had built up that much of a tolerance to it. That was a couple years ago though, now I just have caffeine occasionally. Like, one time I drank two cans of nos, and another time I had 6 cans of monster in like, a two hour time period. I didn't crash though, it was great. Anyone Suffering from Chronic Hives?

This is actually going to be some advice for those people who have suffered with chronic hives for a long time. I had (idiopathic urticaria) hives with no known cause for over 2 years. I lived off of antihistimines and steroids(medrol dose packs and prednisone) and was in and out of the emergency room when I had outbreaks all over my body. I had been given the run around by all types of drs. And I was even given meds for what they believed was a stress disorder. I even had a blood test done for allergies but everything came back fine. I was unable to get the skin test because they ask you to come off of your medications for like a week before the test. And there was no way i could. I had to work and go to school. If i did that I'd look like a monster. But I eventually found a good ENDOCHRINOLOGIST and they found that i have hyperthyroidism/GRAVES DISEASE and the way that my body reacted to the disruption in my thyroid function was externally through hives. I had a blood test at this physicians office and they confirmed that the thyroid levels were too high and put me on Methimazole to help slow down thyroid hormone production. I slowly took myself off of the antihistimines and am taking only the methimazole now. I have been taking the medicine only a month or so and feel much better in some ways. I still feel tired and have a very hard time keeping weight on, but at this point i am not having to worry about hives. I just hope that someone who has the same problem will read this and find some hope here. Don't let a dr tell you that nothing is wrong with you. You know your body best and you know when something is wrong. I went through countless dr's and missed opportunities because of what I was suffering with, with no answers. Dont lose hope and keep looking until you get help.

In my mind a fire arm is like a tool. You can't say one tool is better, because they are intended for different situations. They're is many answers for many situations. In my case, I live in a apartment. So I don't want a projectile going in to my neighbors bed room. It can happen with a shot gun but far less likely. I was looking for some martial arts to study.
